Andy Masley's IB Physics Lectures
США
Добавлен 9 июн 2015
Detailed video lectures on every IB physics topic. I use these videos in place of live lectures in my class, so they're designed to be accessible and understandable to high school students learning the material for the first time. My goal in each video is maximum clarity and just the level of detail required to understand the IB physics curriculum. I have the lectures organized by IB topic in playlists on this channel. All my lectures are also organized by IB topic on my website: andymasley.com/lecture-videos/

The Geiger Marsden Rutherford Gold Foil Experiment - IB Physics
The Geiger-Marsden Experiment (also called the Rutherford Gold Foil Experiment) disproved the plum pudding model of an atom and predicted instead that an atom has a small, dense nucleus surrounded by mostly empty space. This lecture explains how the experiment was done and what conclusions were drawn from it.
Check out my channel for lecture videos on the entire IB physics curriculum organized by topic.

Hi , I am a physics teacher, can you tell us what application/software to make animation on your slides? Thanks
Apple Keynote! Explained here ruclips.net/video/hW7vr8Tbsrg/видео.html
@@AndyMasley would you like to share your slide to use ? thanks
erm a dumb question but since the acceleration is constant, will one equation (if variables are known) be correct?
What will happen in the fourth case if we take X variable on y axis and y on x axis
All videos use this parallax angle but no one explained how to mesure it
THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH
best explanation I've ever had
you're just good thanks bro. I'm a physics and your videos are really helpful. please what software to use for this interactive lessons
I made everything on Apple Keynote!
Wowwwwwww😂 thanks bro! You replied me. I'm from Ghana will host you anytime you visit.
Thank you so much sir you're literally saving lives❤
what software do you use to create your presentations? Keynote? Powerpoint? Thanks in advance :) !
Keynote!
grade 8 and still be wandering what in gods name is he saying , but tbh I am the stupid one the explanation is amazing :)
is this how one would do it for the IA as well?
Really easy to follow, makes my physics lab tommorow less intimidating
Very helpful thanks
from the 2.04 sec time to reach max height .do we not count the time as twice meaning going up and the down before i consider that one of the 50m height??
erm i think you are right acording to motion graph
Hands down this is the clearest and best explanation to this topic. Thank you!!!
If you think about it, the 0th law is literally just the transitive property from Geometry
Thank you so much! It was my teachers first time teaching Nuclear Physics and thus I did not understand very well. Felt hopeless thinking I will have to watch those lengthy Khan Academy videos. It is a miracle that not only did I find a teacher who teaches well, quick, but is also an IB teacher with the exact same curriculum! Lifesaver 😢
How calculate the energy [eV] per shell?
How can the amount of energy in an atoms subshel (s, p, d, f) per period (1,...,7) be calculated?
bro literally i cant thank you enough. keep it up man.
Best teacher
variable of speed is s we write s=d/t not speed=d/t
Explains the rheostat as well with numerical problem Good Job
if my data points are not linear what should i do. Should i do a curved line?
im gonna cry i hate physics
you have no idea how useful these are, your account is a gift <3 I appreiciate Andy SO MUCH
I’m in 12th grade and this channel is helping me so much this channel is underrated amazing video
That's not the average velocity, it's the root mean squared velocity. The average velocity in a Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution is related to the root mean squared velocity by: E[v] = √(8/(3π))·√E[v²] So, the actual average velocity of the particle in the first problem is ~419m/s
I can see the experiment shows that there is/are some denser particle(s) in the atoms, but I don’t understand why it proves that the denser part is in the center of the pudding.
This is what I've been looking for to fully understand the absorption and emission spectra. Thank you very much!
May I ask why the time is 16 seconds.
You talk to fast dawg
Please more slowly man why you speak so rapidly
No time!!!
main young miko
In first example the direction has to be clockwise
cylinder area formula = pi*radius^2*height
Thanks man u saved me
Very well explained❤
You legit explained it better than my textbook and teachers! Thanks alot, your videos mean alot to students like me 😢
This is one of the toughest topics to visualize and truly understand, yet you made everything seem so easy and simple and straightforward.
Thank YOU SO MUCH YOU REALLY DONT KNOW HOW MUCH IVE BEEN WATCHING YT THESE DAYS AND ALL I EVER GO TO WATCH IS UR CHANNEL. That is it. JUST THIS CHANNEL FOR ALL MY PHYSIC SYLLABUS
Aw this made my day, so happy it's been helpful!
Sharing this to all my friends!!!
Brilliant !
very informative lesson.
Im confused - I got 4/pi on the exam, and I thought I explained it thoroughly. Isn’t the fractional uncertainty (delta(A))/A. ? Where A = the area of the circle Delta(A) = the uncertainty of the area ???
can anyone refer a book based on this since I am from India and they don't teach it here and I really want to learn this?
The specific stuff I mention in this video is only really applicable to IB physics. Actual scientists use more advanced methods of analyzing data. Could you share more about what you're looking to learn about? I'm happy to recommend a book
@@AndyMasley I want to learn about the use of data analysis in physics lab experiment though I am an undergrad student.
You know ur cooked when ur learning Huygens principle from Minecraft a day before exams 💀
It's so over brah
this video made the unit so much easier than it used to be what a life saver
weh
if anyones finding it hard to understand his working out for the examples, this video explaining moles really helped me (ruclips.net/video/0KPaj8UbP0I/видео.html). Just do n x avagadros constant = N (n = number of moles in substance & N = number of atoms in substance) Then just understand that the number of moles in a substance (n) is equal to the mass of the substance divided by the nucleon number (atomic mass). So basically the formula is (mass of substance/nucleon number) x avagadros constant = number of atoms in substance
